Growing up in the 1930s and 1940s on a West Australian farm, and leaving home at thirteen to attend secondary school, a country girl had much
to learn at an early age.
After working as shop assistant, waitress and domestic cleaner for a year or so, a nursing career offered work in various places, interesting travel and life-long friendships.
Marriage to a South Australian farmer and a life-style reminiscent of childhood—yet so different because of advances in farming methods—brings No Fairy Tale full circle.
