Gentling Young Horses
Jillian K. Jones
I have spent many years working with horses – “breaking” them in or gentling them, training and retraining spoiled horses.
I have found them to be the most generous of souls and provided they understand what you want, they are usually very willing to do it for you.
A horse is a very strong animal and could really hurt you, but if they are correctly handled they are the best friend you could have. Some of my horses have tried so hard to please me that it is at times very humbling.
My purpose in writing this book is to help those of you who have never gentled or “broken in” a horse before, to do a good job of it.
There are so many cruel and stupid horse-breakers around who have no idea of how the horse thinks or the pain they are putting him through, and I want to help all the horses to have a better life – and of course – all the riders to have a better and happier horse, because he has been “broken in” or gentled properly.
