A Curious Journey

This memoir covers the first 90 years of the author’s rather eventful life – often exciting and sometimes frustrating. He suffered from an incurable disease called CURIOSITY.
His earlier years were during World War II. His father fought in Tobruk, el Alamein, and later against the Japanese in New Guinea. During this time, he discovered his own world in museums, galleries and cinemas and, probably, frustrated his schoolteachers in Adelaide and, eventually, in Brisbane.
During this period he was surprisingly successful at boxing, short-story-writing and annoying people. Not exactly the road to academic and professional success.
As opportunities later arose he obtained a university and other degrees, senior positions with Australian and overseas financial and mining companies as well as a foreign government appointment.
He enjoyed the challenges in these faster lanes – with occasionally even threatening situations. This book records the above and many other aspects of his life, which hopefully, you will find interesting and entertaining.
